Pioneer’s new extra-efficient Class-D digital amplifiers mark a dramatic improvement in power output capability, yet are 50% smaller than the current GM-Series Class-AB amplifiers. Also, Pioneer's new digital amplifier circuit "Protection Control System" senses its internal temperature and automatically moderates input level. The GM-D8604's speaker level inputs allow you to connect your OEM unit (or any unit that doesn't have the typical RCA-type inputs) without having to buy add-on adapters.

This amp has proved to be reliable. It has clean sound.
This was a replacement for a phoenix gold 4 channel amp, 2004 vintage. Clearly the tech advanced significantly since then. Everything about the pioneer is better - it's more powerful, easier to install, has more headroom, uses less power, is lighter and sounds clearer. The small footprint and light weight made installation (in a regular cab F150) easy, the block connectors are easy to use and solid, and the amp is easy to fine tune. At the price point i think it is difficult to beat for a single-unit 4 channel amp.
