This powerhouse is NOT for newbies! The 9833 uses a 5 band papametric EQ, and an adjustable crossover that can only be adjusted @ alpine-usa using i-personalize, and then downloaded into the unit. This eliminates the BASS and TREBLE controls found on lesser head units. If you dont use the factory preset EQs (ROCK, POP, NEWS, FLAT)this could be quite confusing. Beyond that, this unit's sound reproduction is flat out superior.
This thing is awesome! Not only do you get all the playing capabilitys, v drive amp(thing really bumps my speakers) but the sweet thing is matching the colors with your interior or just your mood. I'll never buy a different kind of deck in my life!
Cleanest sound (check the S/N ratio) and best features for the price. Contrary to what snyderman said, you can adjust the 5-band eq and crossovers WITHIN THE UNIT, as well as through I-Personalize. Spend time adjusting it to satisfy your audiofile cravings. Don't skimp on the amps and speakers or you'll have bought this deck for nothing.
\\ This unit is so leet, it plays mp3s which saves tons of money on cds because I can put almost 200 songs on a cd. Also the features are amazing... 512 colors to choose from for the main buttons plus a sweet dot-matrix display... it pwns any other deck around //
The eq on this unit is great. Complicated at first but easy after some time. It took a crap on me after the third month but i still wont buy any other brand of head unit.
This head unit runs my Infinity Reference speakers like no other unit from My trial and error past. If I want to get nuts with the features, no problem, it's all there. If I just simply desire a quality well designed easy to use cd/radio, Done. I could Not be more pleased. All the plans I have to improve my sound system, I can achieve with this Alpine stereo. I highly suggest, after shopping for 2 months for the right unit, that you purchase this one. Overall, it has the best features and will fill all your desires for awesome sound reproduction.
