The D3 is a great deck for the price. Sounds pretty good and has great features. The Ipod interface is a great improvement over the avic-N1 I had. I would recommend this deck to anyone. The Navigation works pretty well too!! And the bypass is easy to do!!!
You can adjust the colors of the unit to match the other colors inside your ride, this was important to me. Also the bypas in simple and its not any complicated buttons just dont lose the stick that it comes with because figure prints will drive you nuts. zzzzzzsometimes the navigation takes you on a longeer route but its not that bad at least you get where you are going. DVD picture is the best I've seen in any of my cars glarre isn't bad and the picture is really nice. I like the shiny black surround on the unit. People know that its not the Z-1 but they may not have anything in there car anyway. Great deal wonderful feature and really basic. I think its way better than the Z-1 in price and simplicity. Keep your eyes on the road though if you get a bypass. Steering wheel controls are aviable.
I got this to replace my Alpine IVA-W200 that was stolen. What attracted me to the D3 was the navigation. It works good for the price. I just got the dvd player and is still exploring all the features that it has. The video/navigation bypass is pretty simple to do. Screen color is very sharp. With navigation you have to load the disc to be able to find your destination but can be eject once the route has been save in memory so you can take out the cd and input your dvd/cd, otherwise if you have an ipod/aux you can keep the NAV cd in the slot and listen to music. Browsing speed for songs on dvdr/cdr takes about 1.5 second to populate a list. All in all best "bang for the buck".
I LOVE THIS PLAYER!! I have had many decks in my years of car audio and I must say Pioneer did a great job! The bypass was a joke, and the picture and sound quality are great. If you have full components and subs this deck really lets you customize the sound you want. Have to get this deck... NOW!
Best radio for the price. You can not find a better more inexpensive unit. Dvd player works great. sound great... BUT... some nav functions do not work as expected. takes longer routes, does NOT avoid freeway. (have not yet got the xm part) Ipod controlls work well, i use it to watch music, can't physically choose next video, but can skip to the next song or movie via touch screen. Unit is pretty user friendly and for the price can't beat it! Best of all it looks like it is a stock install. I replaced a D1 and that unit was amazing, but doesn't have the ipod control for video. (or thats what the radio store said) used ipod rca video cables to connect ipod video to the D1.
This is one nice headunit. I would say the best for the money. I bought one of these for my 04 explorer and love it. I loved it so much i had to purchase 2 more for my parents. My pops is not all that good with the new technology but he has the D3 down pack. My mom loves it and feels as if he ride has been pimped. Get it its worth it.
Excellent. Very nice unit, easy to move around, good screen. I have had 3 GPS units, I really like this one. It is well done. I like that the background colors can be changed to match the current dash colors. It makes it look stock and not add on. Very happy.
