  • Ok, this is my first time writing any type of product review and I think that this head unit deserves it. If any of you out there are like me you dont wanna here that this unit rocks. Too Vague. One of my favorite features is the IPOD/MP3 player control. I have a plain jane MP3 player and it controls it like an extension of the MP3 player. It has dual zone controls which allows you to "shut off" your rear speakers if say you have your kids in the back. Another nicety is the sound quality. I had a sony explod head unit before this one and the sound is soo much more crisp and clean. I will tell you that until you figure out the menu it can be a pain in the butt, but outside of that one of the best head units I have ever had. The price is great for almost any budget, it carries the Excelon name so you know it is not just another radio and the remote sits comfortably in your hand. Overall I would recomend this unit to anyone that is looking for a high quality unit.

  • If your looking for a budget sound good head unit, you may want to look elsewhere. This unit doesn't sound much better than the OEM Delco stereos. Muffled, like a tin can. Despite the sound settings with OEM and Aftermarket speakers, you just cant get this thing to sound decent. The OEM radio has better bass and treble than this unit. The menus are cumbersome, and the blue lights are just too bright even when the DIM feature is on. The power of this unit is highly over rated and it has ZERO headroom. This unit does NOT work well with the PAC Steering wheel adapter. Track up, pauses the head unit. Volume with one press of the button quickly cranks the volume. Not smooth at all. I'll be selling mine on Ebay and putting the stock stereo back in.

  • It's great product with this price. But it's kinda disappoint in some of its features, e.g. picture quality, sounds but not much tho. So far so good for me. but i 'd rather pay $50-70 more for X792. :p

  • I guess people from Michigan don't understand how to properly adjust parametric eq's and set crossover points. This h/u defintely sounds better than comparable pioneer premiers. If you think this h/u sounds muddy than you haven't heard the pioneer deh-p600ub/500ub or the 490ib which sound like they're buried under 10 feet of mud. Excelons have Bit Wolfson 24 bit dac's which give greater detail in your music than the 1-bit dsp's of pioneer in the this price range.

  • This head unit replaced a Keendwood KDC-2025. this is paired with Keenwood 6x8 680C speakers. the sound quality is amazing. nice features for ipod. However For more feature like Satilite radio displays and other display features the Keenwood KDC-x792 Would be the way to go. If i had known i would have Upgraded to the next level but either way with out those small features this is a GREAT system for ipod users. Tough navigating through at first but can easily grasp.
