Concentric Coaxial Tweeter
The APX 690 features an exclusive 40 mm horn loading dome tweeter that contributes to maximize efficiency up to 96dB SPL and an acoustics lens specifically designed and applied to the tweeter to increase dispersion in the high frequency range. To strengthen the emission of very high frequency ranges otherwise affected by off-axis positioning compared to the listening point, the APX 690 featuring a supertweeter.

Incorporating a 40 mm horn-loaded dome tweeter for exceptional efficiency, this speaker system boasts an acoustics lens that enhances high-frequency dispersion. The addition of a Polyethylene Injected (PEI) super tweeter further strengthens the emission of very high frequencies, making it particularly effective in rear deck installations with off-axis positioning. The overall design includes advanced features like a water-repellent treated paper cone, a pure copper mobile voice coil on a Kapton former, and a unique thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU) sphere for maximum excursion linearity. The robust construction includes a large motor assembly optimized with Finite Element Method (FEM) technology, low carbon content plates for optimal magnetic permeability, and a compact basket with protective coatings for durability.

Great bass for a 6x9. Very defined sound, maybe its the three-way feature, but you can really hear the difference. Much much better than the ones that I had before.
