Ratings are for the radio unit itself. But I think you should be aware of something. I had the Sony XAV-AX8100 installed in my Jeep by a local sound shop. Later I purchased the SiriusXM SXV300VI tuner and installed it myself. If you are familiar with how to remove your vehicles radio, the installation is a breeze. The hardest part for me was getting all of the wiring harnesses back in behind the head unit. First, let me say the sound of the Sony head unit is amazing and the operation is what I expected. I am not sure if it is the radio or it's interaction with the SiriusXM tuner, but when listening to SiriusXM, I am not able to tag a song or an artist as a favorite, see any of my favorites (songs, artists or stations) in a list, do not have the ability to pause, rewind, or replay live satelitte radio, to use TuneMix, or TuneScan. According to the box the tuner came in, all of these should be there for me to use. I checked to see if the tuner was compatible with the 8100 and according to everything I could find, it is compatible. If I use SiriusXM through Android Auto, I have access to my list of favorite radio stations that I have set up on the SiriusXM app on my phone. This issue only presents itself if I am using SiriusXM as my music source on the radio head unit. I have spent about 45 minutes on chats with SiriusXM and Sony discussing my concerns. SiriusXM and Sony went through their troubleshooting steps, and each of them say these features should be available to me and can't find a reason why they aren't. SiriusXM told me it's a radio problem and Sony told me it's a SiriusXM tuner problem. Either way, I do not have access to the features I expected. If these things are important to you, just beware.
Huge display. Nice sound as expected from Sony receivers. Experienced lags with Carplay, but it still works smoothly from time to time.
CarPlay sometimes fail to work, usually once a week. I don't have any what's the problem with it. But when it works mostly, it works smoothly. The sound quality is great and the usability of other features is perfect for newbie users. Setting it up didn't take a sweat too. Lastly is the screen, which is massive. nice receiver from Sony.
