• Overview: The Wavtech Link500.1mini is a compact mono amplifier designed for both aftermarket and factory systems. Featuring Wavtech's best-in-class LOC (Line Output Converter), the ability to handle up to 40V of high-level signal input, and OEM load detection, the Link500.1mini is an ideal choice for factory sound system integration.
• Class-D Power: The Wavtech Link500.1mini is a Class-D amplifier that's stable down to 2 ohms. The amp's power ratings are taken at 14.4V with <1% THD.
• Differential-Balanced Inputs: The Link500.1mini features a differential-balanced input architecture to effectively control noise and ensure compatibility with a wide variety of source units, including many OEM systems. Without resorting to line output converters, you can directly connect most OEM source units to the amplifier without creating any noise or compatibility issues. Unlike conventional single-ended inputs, the differential-balanced design does not connect one side of the audio signal to chassis ground. This eliminates any voltage sensitivity between one input terminal and ground and greatly reduces the incidence of alternator whine in a typical car audio installation.
• Cooling System: The outer shell of the Link500.1mini amplifier is designed to remove heat from the amplifier circuitry. For optimum cooling performance, this outer shell should be exposed to as large a volume of air as possible.  Enclosing the amplifier in a small, poorly ventilated chamber can lead to excessive heat build-up and degraded performance.
• Protection Circuitry: The amplifier features protection circuitry for thermal overload, DC output, over/under voltage, and short circuits. The amp stops operating when it goes into protection mode, with the Power indicator changing from Green to Red.
• Auto Turn-on: When the amplifier is connected using speaker level inputs, from a factory or aftermarket head unit, the amplifier's auto turn-on feature can detect both DC-offset and audio signals, powering on the amp on when a signal is detected on the input. This eliminates the need to connect a turn-on lead to the amp's Power Control wire. A DC Aud Detect jumper on the input side of the amp can be set to On or Off.
• Load Jumpers: The speaker-level inputs feature built-in loading (resistance) to accommodate most OEM load-detect systems. Two Load jumpers (On/Off) let you select which channels will have the loading circuit engaged.
• Gain Adjustment & Clip LED: The input channels have a variable Gain dial with corresponding Clip indicator. The Gain should be adjusted with the sound source at 3/4 volume, and turned up until the Clip indicator starts to light. If the Clip indicator is on solid, the Gain should be lowered below the clip point.
• Input Range: Two input sensitivity ranges are provided to optimize the source volume range while minimizing the gain required to achieve full output power without clipping. The 5V/20V setting should be used if low-level (RCA) signals up to 5V are used, or speaker-level signals up to 20V. The 10V/40V setting should be selected if connecting low-level signals up to 10V, or speaker-level signals up to 40V.
• LP Filter: A 24dB/octave Low-Pass filter lets you select a cut-off frequency between 50Hz and 500Hz.
• Parametric EQ: A single-band parametric equalizer lets you select a Frequency from 30-80Hz, with 0 to +12dB of boost. A Width (Q) adjustment from 1.5-5 lets you narrow or widen the boost range.
• Subsonic Filter: The Link500.1mini includes a Subsonic Filter for removing frequencies below the selected one. The subsonic filter has a range of 10-50Hz.
• Speaker-Level Inputs: The Link500.1mini features a removable set-screw terminal block for attaching speaker-level input signals. The terminals can accept wire up to 12-gauge and signal levels from 1V-40V, accommodating even the highest power factory systems. An Input Range switch is provided, allowing a wide range of input signal levels: at the 20V setting, signals ranging from 1V to 20V can be used. At the 40V setting, signals ranging from 2V to 40V can be used.
• RCA Inputs: A single pair of RCA low-level input jacks are provided for connection to an aftermarket headunit. The Input Range switch can be used to determine the input level for these inputs as well: the 5V setting can accept signals ranging from 200mV to 5V. At the 10V setting, signals ranging from 400mV to 10V can be used. A Bal/Unbal jumper determines if the input will be Balanced or Unbalanced. Unbalanced connects the RCA shield to ground, which may help eliminate noise under certain conditions.
• Speaker Outputs: Two pairs of set-screw terminals are provided for the mono speaker output, each accepting wire up to 12-gauge.
• Power/Ground/Remote: Set-screw terminals are provided for the power, ground, and remote turn-on terminals with the power and ground accepting up to 4-gauge wire (8-gauge recommended), and the remote terminal accepting wire up to 12-gauge.
