Impressive Performance in a Compact Package
The 8" woofer in the Hideaway™ delivers impressive low-end bass that will elevate your listening experience, especially when mounted inside the passenger compartment. With the included remote control bass knob, adjusting the bass level to suit your music is quick and easy. For simple installation, Kicker provides nylon straps with Velcro® fasteners for secure mounting, along with a quick-disconnect harness featuring power and signal wiring to streamline the setup process.
Class-D Amplifier
With its Class-D amplifier, the Kicker HS8 can handle a power output of 150 Watts RMS. The powered subwoofer has a frequency response of 25 to 120 Hz, allowing it to deliver an extensive low-frequency performance. Overview:
The Kicker Hideaway HS8 (51HS8) is a compact powered subwoofer featuring an 8" sub and a built-in 150W RMS amplifier. Its compact size makes it ideal for installation in tight spaces, such as under seats in many vehicles.
Remote Control:
A wired remote provides convenient access to output level control. It includes an integrated mounting bracket for easy installation under the dash. The remote connects to the amplifier using the included 19.5' cable with 3.5mm TRS plugs on both ends.
Note: The Remote Bass Control dimensions are approximately 1.65" (W) x 1.03" (H) x 1.27" (D), with a depth of 3.20" when considering the knob and cable.
Subsonic Filter:
The subwoofer comes with a built-in subsonic filter, which enhances performance by eliminating very low frequencies that the subwoofer cannot reproduce. The filter is set at 25 Hz with a 24 dB/octave slope and cannot be turned off.
Mounting:
With its slim 3-1/8" height, the subwoofer is designed for applications with limited space, such as fitting under seats.
Controls:
- Auto Turn-on: A two-position switch for turn-on options:
- +12V: The amplifier turns on when 12V is applied to the remote turn-on wire.
- DC: The amplifier turns on when it detects a signal on the speaker-level input.
- Input Level: Two-position switch to select input signal strength:
- Hi: Accepts input signals ranging from 250mV to 10V.
- Lo: Accepts input signals from 125mV to 5V.
- Phase: Two-position switch for phase adjustment (0° or 180°).
- Bass Boost: Adjustable rotary dial providing up to +6 dB boost centered at 40 Hz.
- Crossover Frequency: Rotary dial to control the low-pass filter between 50 and 120 Hz, with a 12 dB/octave slope.
