I have a pair of these power by 150w premier amp.. they sound pretty good... I notice the tweeter tend to get very hot with the amp at about 50% of its full power @bi-amp.
id highly recommend these over a set of 4x6 speakers.. they sound crisp and clean off an amp with clean power,i had mine on a JBL 80.2 and they sounded awesome, and even sound good on a head unit.. do not expect alot of bass output from these though... obviously the little 4" midrange isnt going to pump out much, for the money they are great..
Sound way better than factory of course. just had trouble getting them in. if you have an older car there may be some problems(1986 coupe deville)not enough room. i had to cut into the original ficture. sound quality is great though.
Had 4 of these great speakers in my 94 Z71 4x4, 2 in the dash, and 2 in the c pillars, driven by a Kenwood eXcelon 4 channel amp. These were augmenting the bi-wired Kenwood eXcelon component speakers in the doors driven by the front channel of my Rockford Punch 160 amp along with the pair of passive 6" Bazooka tubes on the rear channels. All of this was controlled by a Kenwood eXcelon head unit. The sound was outstanding to say the least. Sold this truck (highly modified I.E. 400hp 4 bolt main, quick shift tranny, 14 bolt rear with 456 gears and a Detroit locker) 3 years ago and lamented the fact I would probably never be able to own another set of these speakers. Guess I was wrong and plan on purchasing more for my current ride along with a few extra pairs just in case Pioneer ever decides to discontinue them. Can't say enough good things about them. If you are thinking of buying a pair I would suggest purchasing a few extra just in case, you will love them that much.
