For the money, this thing rocks!! Two speakers were half the cost of one W-6 and still pounded.
really good speakers well worth the price.
I have 2 of these in a sealed box powered by a jl 250/1 amp. This is a very good and cost effective setup. I plan on getting another 2 and another 250/1 amp to make my car even louder.
These are some excellent subs. Running 420 watts to these speakers makes them bounce. I get people looking at me all the time going turn that stuff down. Highly Recommended for the money and quality. JL AUDIO ROCKS
These subs are one of the best bang-for buck deals out there, especially if you double or triple up on them. A while back I got a pair of these off of eBay (yes used) for $105, and they mady my friends pair of $300 Xplods (that's $300 apiece.) sound like you school's PA. However, Jason from uh Earth, my one 12"W6v2 makes these subs sound like component speakers - there's absolutely no comparison.
I have been running 250w rms to this sub for almost 4 years and pretty much beating the crap out of it.. Not one problem.. I had another 12w0 that blew right after I got it but the shop I bought it from replaced it under JL's coverage. Again.. not one problem since. The only reason I'd use another sub is to step up to a JL W7 :)
I have 2 JL Audio 12-W0's hooked up to a Power AcoustiK 1200 watt 2 channel amplifier and they slam. I have 4 ga. wire ran all the way up to a distributer, then I went with 3 feet of 8 ga. to the amp. Stuff sounds awesome, but could do a little better on faster beats like rock music. Handles rap beats awesome. Travels excellent and VERY loud in the cab.
I Bought These from a place last week to replace my junk sony explodes and do these things pound a reccomended buy cant wait to upergrade JL Rocks
I took out the back seat of my civic and had a nice enclosure built for 4 of these. On a p.o.s. power acoustik 600w. amp they took my breath away(literally).Far and away the BEST sub out for the money ,period.Loud as hell on most music.Just upgraded to 4 12w3v2's and a pair of orion 800w mono amps so my little bro inherited the12w0's. I will NEVER buy another brand of subs,JL is the dookie.
my friend had two of these and they pounded i own the 15in size of them and i have a 300/2 jl amp on them and they rock the best subs i have every had and i have had aonys and alpines type rs that are rated at about 1000w a pice the jls kill them by a long shot so dont waste your money on any thing else
I have 2 of these with 350 watts of rockford goin to each of them and man do they thump, they will take alot before you blow them up!
This is a very good sub for the money. I recently purchased 2 with a 800 watt kenwood amp. They can get up there when coming to loudness. They hit surprisingly low. A lot of people underestimate them but they are good subs. They work well with all kinds of music. If you want Head buzzing blow your ears off subs then i would recommened getting W6v2's or W7's. But if you want nice clean bass with decent loudness then god with the WO's and you with also save a lot of money and still get great sounding subs.
I have one of these subs, Mounted in a fourth order bandpass. I've opted for an 8" port (For an indoor setup) The bass is incredible. Well worth the few dimes you spend on this little puppy.
I had two of these hooked up to a 1000watt Eclipse amp. It was pretty loud but didn't hit low enough for me....but the price was resonable.
i mounted this sub in a 4.0 cubic foot box (sealed). feeding it 400w RMS and a 1.5 farad capacitor to add some punch. it feels like bruce lee is kicking me in the chest.
I HAVE 4 OF THESE BAD BOYZ HOOKED UP TO A POWER ACOUSTIC OVA-1600. LET ME TELL U MY FRIENDS COULD HEAR ME 2 BLOCKS AWAY. IT HITS SO HARD IF YOU LITE A LIGHTER WHEN THE MUSIC IS ON IT WILL GO OUT. CHEAT PRICE FOR A GOOD SPEAKER. I RECONDMEND THAT PEOPLE SHOULD BUY THIS SPEAKES!!!! P.S. I ALL READY HAVE 3 TICKETS.
To be honest, I have two of these that a freind of mine gave me, in a completely sealed enclosure. Head unit where you change the radio stations pushes 220 Watts, and the amp is a SMALL 2 channel, 200 watt MAX. I can turn these things up to level 14 out of a total volume levals of 46, when playing a rap song done by Lil Jon..and holy crap...they start messing with your head... I can feel the bass in the back fo my seat.. Its like a back message! The bass also messes with your nose even.makes it rather hard to breath. If you want some serious thump for some low bucks then look no further. Oh..one more thing. As I mentioned, I got my 2 JLs from a freind of mine. befor I got them, he had these monsters POWER MOUNTED, with the magnet on the outside of box. About 3..give or take..minutes later..his rear bumper started to disconnect its self from the mounts, his right, rear passenger window cracked and his sun-visores acted like they were about to break, due to how much bass was flowing through the car! You don't need no 1,000 watts to make a slammin' system. Pair this...or THESE subs with a good amp, wireing kit, and head unit..and show up all these guys who dump a grand or so into their system. ~~JL Audio-Serious Sound-Serious Subs-Serious...crap. (couldn't say the other word)~~
I have 2 of these in custom built 300$ enclosure with a 250 watt Crunch amp and a low end alpine deck. I recently ran them in a competition and they hit at 136.1 dB. I really think the deck makes all the difference as far as the SPL but still they are a quality product. I've been pushing the "recommended MAX power" into them and I run them hard and I have never had a problem. Great Product, and Made In America.
I had a set like these when I got out of highschool (1996)they finally blew last year (2007). They made a little noise just before they went but over 10 years of pounding that has to scream durability. JL Audios line of W0 subs are great subs period. I am back in the market and will be looking to these once again
i have set one of these in a ported box running off of a sony amp bridged to 500w for 1 year and it is one of the best subs i have listened to in its class hands down!
I have two of these bridged to a crunch 1000W amp and they hit hard!!! These subs have to be the best for the price. If you wnat to be herd and have a low budget these are the subs your looking for you will not regret it trust me!!! With the right amp these subs will hit hard and they have durability!!!
i had 2 12wo-4 run at 2 ohms and 1 12w0-8 run at 8 ohms and 4 jl audio 6x9 TRs, and they hit so hard that they kept knocking my driver's side window off it's track. and to top it off i was running them all with cheap amps and never got to upgrading my amps before it got impounded. all in all these are the absolute best subs for the price. recommend jl audio to everyone i talk to.
I have one of these in a sealed box ran to a 300 watt pioneer amp, and man does it hit. Its way louder than my previous system, whitch were 1 polk audio 12 and a massive 12 to a 600 watt MA Audio amp. Im positive that two of these will beat loud. Great product, lasts long!
i have 2 of these in a sealed box with a e1400d jl mono block amp and they sound amazing, jl is the best dont waste your $ on kickers there voice coils suck and u get what you pay for
I have two of these in a ported box with four holes and plexiglas front, hooked up to a 800watt rockford fasgate punch amp, it says that these peak out at 300watts a peace but that's a lie they could take more, and the amp is bridged. You want to make these things really come to life use a real good amp that has more than 600watts if you have 2 jl's
I have two 12 inch w0"s and a 500 watt autotek amp and let me tell ya for 125 watt rms each they pound . And it's nice clean bass , better then most product . I've had these subs for 12 years and they still sound great. Too bad they don't make the wo models anymore because I tell ya they pound harder then subs with 2 times the watts :)
I have 2 of these subwoofers with a Memphis 750D.1 mono amplifier pushing them. They hit a deep low bass, I never would've thought two 12's would go that low. I have 8ga wiring from battery to amp. Hits hard but im replacing the 8 with 4 gauge this weekend. I will let you guys know how much ,if any difference. Also adding a capacitor. Well worth the money. Very durable!
