Awesome Clearity and Power!!! That's all I can say. I am using it to pump through some Kenwood Excelon 6.5" and 6x9's without an amp or sub and my friends with amps and subs wish they'd saved some money!!!
This is some crucial pioneer power. If you like customization, you'll like this head unit. Along with tons of features, the P8MP has an enormous 60W MOSFET power per channel, as well as 3 preouts rated at 6.5 v each. What's even cooler is the display- hit a single button and you can watch a different mini-movie with each push. At night the display will automatically dim when you turn your head lights on. The sound is amazing- like no other. I have not even figured out all of the sound adjustments available. I do know that my favorite feature is probably the ASL (automatic sound levelizer). As you accelerate, this unit automatically turns up the volume as road noise increases!! And for all of you audiophiles out there - this unit will play WAV MP3 WMA and regular cd's. The reproduction is absolutely incredible- WAV even plays in losless format (1444 Kbps)!! Talk about sexy, too. the deep blue color adds "mood lighting" to your car at night (the cops can't bust you for having a blue glow in your car either!!). the face automatically folds down when you leave (and when ejecting cd's), and reminds you with an audible tone to remove the face for theft prevention. I have two JL Audio 15 inch W6's with a JL 1000/1 amp, and i am running four 6 1/2 inch pioneer 3-way components with the head unit alone, the 60x4 sets this unit aside from most, and on top of that the 6.5 vlots of power it pumps out makes it one of the most powerful right now.
This is the best head unit i have ever had and heard! I did have an old pioneer head unit powering 2 15 inch Kove Armagedens with a 1400 kove amp and it was loud. Then I got this head unit and the difference blew me away. Not only does it look cooler it puts out way more power, and sounds twice as good. Everyone with the money should buy one!!
Excellent upgrade from the stock system! This headunit rocks! Installed in a 2005 S2000 and coupled with Infinti 6000CS components in the doors and Kenwood 5.25" in the rear panels completes this system. No need at all for a sub with this set up. Compared to others with the same car and who have spent much more $$$$ on their audio systems, I'll take this unit anyday. Pros: great power, clear sound, multiple EQ settings to choose from or customize your own, nice display, auto adjusting loudness when driving, plays MP3, looks great, multiple background displays and you can make your own. Cons: navigating with the joy stick through MP3 folders takes 10 minutes to get use to and can be a bit tricky when driving, a color backgound would be nice.
This deck made my stock speakers scream just as loud and good as some highend speakers. I would have to say this is one of the best pioneer premier decks ive purchest and i wouldnt go with any other.
Everything I wanna say is just as same as the upper people said!! I also had a Alpine 9853 but DEH-P8MP just beated it definitely and now it is the only one which sitting in my car.
i upgraded to this from a pioneer deh-4400, of course i was satisfied and impressed after installing this deck. it is customizable which is why i like it and pushes out plently of power to my car speakers just through the deck! ever since i installed this deck, i can push the volume 90% and my 6.5"/6x9 speakers still wont distort with the proper settings. (keep in mind my speakers arent amped, just running off deck power). this gets a 9.5/10 from me. it would've been the best if it had more EQ adjustability like the alpine and other pioneer decks. but i 3 band EQ's with deeper adjustments is plently enough for me. for starters, very great choice, for compeitors, im sure YOU would know to go with something more capatable for your needs (6 band EQ's/etc). i love the settings you can do with the subwoofers on this deck as well.
this is a great deck for starters and newbies that enter the audio game. i replaced my pioneer deh-4400 with this unit and i never looked back. the p8mp is probably one of the greater mp3 units on the market today in its class. i love the 60wx4 it gives it as well. when i had 6.5" and 6x9' speakers in my car running off this headunit power, my buddies thought i was running a sub when they heard the midbass comming from this power source. best investment i did with my car. if your looking for sound quality, check out alpines line-up. other than that, this deck gets a 9.5/10
This is one of the best head units out there. It's also the most powerfull with 6.5 volts of output. If you know anything about head units you would be a fool to buy anything else.

Best deck I have bought so far, installed in a 2002 330ci, attached to memphis 16-PR 150.2 Amp powering a 12" pioneer sub and using stock upgrade speakers from BMW. Also using the GEX-P920XM unit for sat radio. Pro's: Noticed a difference in sound immediately on install. Very satisfied with bass output. Love the scrolling ID tags on MP3's. Bright easy to read display. Con: limited equalizer which takes some time to adjust to, could do without the large command button / joystick (hit a bump and you end up someplace you didn't intend), cannot figure out how to get xm information to scroll (I honestly don't think you can), some "hidden" functions not easy to figure out like getting the display image to stop inverting which is very distracting at night, creating your own screen savers is gimmicky and the software to do so blows.
Purchased and installed this past weekend. I am a little strapped on cash so I'm running Apine type s Co-axle 6.5 in the doors and 6x9 in back deckoff the mosfet internal amp. Plenty of power. Lots of settings to eliminate the frequencies that should be handled by a sub. Very clear, every song is a new experience. Plan to upgrade sub and amp to JL 500/1 with 2 Type R Alpine 12" subs. These subs will be loud but the Pioneer will still produce enough high's from the internal amp alone! Wish I had got mine here, paid $350.
Excellent head unit.... I have it powering 4 pioneer 6 X 8's and a 600 watt pioneer amp through two pioneer 10's.........this thing really made everything come alive in my car.... I upgraded from a DEH-1400.....The crossover features alone on this head unit were enough to sell me on it.... I havnt even figured out half of the stuff this thing does yet....can be really distracting at night though but somebody said there is a dimmer feature when you turn your lights on... I havnt figured that out yet myself though......wouldnt buy any other unit
This unit is a deluxe one. It looks awesome at night and has great power output. I recommend this product to anyone.
This item is one of the best head units u could ever purchase, not just for the money value but also for it's quality. I love my stereo and wan't others to enjoy the pure sucess of the elite pioneer true power.
Everything i have to say, everyone has already said. Power,Clairity,Looks, it has it all plus the low price. I've owned Clarion and Pioneer head units and by far this is the best one.
