Product Reviews For Boss Audio CH6CK

  • I was very skeptical about purchasing a 30 dollar pair of component speakers but I must tell you if your in the market for a 6.5 inch speaker you should give these a try. I did and man am I glad I did. They really do sound quite good for the price, better than my last set of pioneer full range 6.5 inch speakers, and I am only pushing them with my Alpine head unit. Do yourself a favor and save 150 bucks. Buy these speakers!!!

  • These are very nice component speakers for the price. It is indeed better than running a 2/3-way coaxial system. The sound field is much better when the highs are seperated. Like most aftermarket speakers, they should be run with an aftermarket amp, and not the deck powering them. I was feeding 50watts rms to these and they sounded great. The amp is a cheap roadmaster vr4 amp as well, cheap with cheap but it does the job. I have surprised a lot of people. Remember it is not the product that is crap, it is the installation. The midbass produces good bass, and the highs of the tweeters are just right. The reason I didn't give it a perfect 2 is the crossover design. More expensive units have an option for higher db on the highs, this does not, but its no big deal. For the price it's hard to complain, esp. after hearing them.

  • These are some nice speakers, put these in the back of my Altima with a Kenwood deck. Expected more bass, but still better than a 3-way back there. Would buy again.

  • I really wasnt sure about a $33 pair of components but the tweeter on my old pioneer 6.5" literally fell off. It was time to replace them and I'm on a budget so what the hell. I put them in and mounted the tweets. It was simple! they sound awesome! They blow my $55 pioneers out of the water. The highs are clear and the mids produce a relatively fluid sound. Not crackly like some. I am running them straght off of a 45X4 kenwood deck and have them crossed over at 100hz+. I couldn't have asked for a better value in a component set. BUY THESE if your on a budget and want clear sound. Dont expect a lot of bass because they aren't designed for that although the do produce lower frequencies too.

  • I needed something low-buck for my daily beater 97 Chevy S10, and these gave a lot more than I expected. They blend well with my old 8" JL W3's behind the seats, and the tweeters sound very good installed under the dash grilles in the unoccupied 4x6 factory preparation. Well worth the minimal expense, and much nicer to listen to than the old paper whizzer cone Pioneers that previously were in the doors. You might not like these if you don't have any additional woofers to support them, they definitely drop off around the 60hz range but that's all I needed anyway.

  • I would have loved to call these things amazing, really would have. I purchased two sets of these to go with a soundstorm amp and everything went great, been in installation for years and for the price these are unbeatable, bar none. HOWEVER, one of the woofers out of the four was blown. I know my ish and theres no way I just f'd it up. But considering the price I'm getting another set to replace and have a spare, as I like to have one just in case anyway.

  • Bought a set a year ago for replacement in my Wrangler sound bar . They are just as good as a $100 to $200 set of components. Now that I have bought a 2002 Nissan Xterra going to get another to replace the worn out speakers.

  • My set had defective crossovers after a brutal install today I will have to purchase a set of new crossovers :( These speakers will sound gr8 if the crossovers work. If you buy these buy a set of 2 way universal crossovers just incase the crossovers are defective.

  • Bought these for my wife's vehicle. For her they are great, but for my own personal preferences, I needed something with a little more bang. Not knocking the speakers at all, as they are a very good product.
