They are extremly great sounding speakers i recomend these for anyone i have them in my 2004 maxima and they sound great.
We installed this in a Civic, and it sounded great out of the box. Some minor tweaking got things running even better. Definitely a big improvement over JBLs i've come across in the past. The tweets are lovelier than the metal domes on other JBLs. They sound more expensive than their selling price IMO. P.S. I also like the screw type terminals. Definitely nice for this price range.
I run these active and push 150 rms to each driver and they absolutely love it! Amazing SQ for the money and have some decent Mid to Mid bass response if ran active. I say buy em today. They rock!
Got 2 sets for my front stage using a eclipse 4 channel 70x4 sounds great.
Started my system up front with Kicker KS600 coaxials. They were detailed, loud, and played midbass very nicely. Only thing I didn't like was that the higher frequencies didn't sound great coming from inside my door. Bought a pair of Hifonics 6.5c components rated at 100 watts RMS. The kickers which were rated at 60 watts RMS played midbass much clearer louder and lower, and they played louder overall without distortion than the hifonics. The hifonics tweeters sounded nice and clear when set to -3 dbs, if at 0 dbs they were a bit harsh however. The midbass stunk, and the kicker coaxs would have gone back into the car if I didn't buy the JBL P660C's. Now, after having the JBL's in the car for a few days and listening to all types of music (I listen equal parts Classic Rock, Metal, Rap, EDM, 80's, you name it, except country). I must say these things are awesome in every way. I have the tweeter at 0 DBs (option to lower to -6 not necessary). Highs are much more pleasant to the ear than the Hifonics. Midbass plays better than the kickers, and they play louder and clearer than both. They appear well built and I am very glad I bought them. At $149 I think they are worth it. My friend has a set of Polk DB6501 components, and I think the JBL P660C plays slightly better midbass and the tweeter is a little easier on the ears.
