Got this sub to fit in a .75 cu. ft. sealed box (min. recommended by Alphasonik) and provide bass in a small space and still have trunk space. Have it running off of a 5th channel of a Powerbass ASA1100.5x, getting about 500W RMS at 2ohms and LPF at 80 Hz. Broke it in for week before really pushing it, and it will get reasonably loud if you want to attract attention, but I prefer the balanced sound. This is not a LOW LOW sub for booty bass rap, but it will blend in nicely with rock, jazz, and country music and handle the power you throw at it. Should hit lower notes well in a 1.0 cu. ft. sealed box, not sure how it will do in a ported box. Very happy with it for the money I spent, it does exactly what I wanted.
Simply put, this woofer exceeded my expectations.Don't let the "shallow mount" label fool you, this does not behave like an entry-level sub. I wanted a little thump but I wanted to get my trunk back, so I put one of these in a .75 ft3 box with about 500W RMS to it at 2ohms. Well....this Alphasonik handles the power with no problems and just gets LOUD! I was expecting a typical shallow mount sub that didn't hit deep lows, but shallow mount does not mean small box...this woofer would sound right at home in a 1.0 ft3 box, and it POUNDS. I would have no problem running two of these with about 1000 watts to them, but one is plenty for me. This sub is tight, musical, and can bang all day with heavy bass rap and hip-hop. Great product and will definitely buy again when it's time to hook up my son's ride.
