Product Reviews For Alpine SPR-60C

  • Installed these babies running an Alpine pdx-f6 150w/ch, Played them hard for a week. Just when i thought they sounded ok. WHAM i guess they broke in. Sounds amazing. Ordering a second pair for the back channel. Alpine type r all the way. P.S. dont play those highly compressed songs. Get some original music discs or wma files.

  • I have one running off of a pdx 4.100 that is rated at 121 x 4. Thes are higher RMs than the old ones I had. PDX-4.100 and PDX-M6 for the single SWR-1223D 12 in the rear of my 09 xB RS6 ( The Red One ). Perfect setup for the car leaving half of the rear capable of folding down still. Good for my DJ biz. Stock Pioneer AVEC900bt Nav unit in the dash for this Release Series.

  • I've had 2 sets of these speakers (front and back) for awhile with an Alpine digital 5 channel amp and they sounded good but that amp and headunit were a headache. Swichted out the amp for the pdx F6 and the 900w head unit. The head unit helped because it was easier to tune but WOW if you have the right amp behind these speakers they are crystal clear!! I think Im going to purchase a pair of the SPX 17 Pros but I am nervous about it because these speakers are great and currently have no problems with them. 150 dollars for 4 speakers that can crank out clear sound at high volumes you will be hard pressed to find something better.

  • Using these with a pdx-4.100 that is tested at 121x4 RMS. I have these in the front and 5 1/4 coax in the rear and it is great. Perfect RMS on these and and the amp so it won't blow the speakers. The digital amps don't tax my electrical at all. A pdx-m6 and a swr-12223D for the rear. The whole car ( 09 Red RS6 xB ) is running at 4 ohms and the amps barely get warm. They play at mid volume for 4+ hours on the battery in the back yard while I do work and the car starts just fine. Kinetik 1800 battery and this setup is all ya need. No caps needed.

  • They are type r alpines what else needs to be said. They are well worth the money. I have 150watts rms going to these and I can turn them up until my ears hurt and they do not distort. It is unbelievable how loud and clear these speakers really are. The crossovers are very small and have three adjustments on them. The tweeters sound ds mnemonic good and the mids are perfect. I did not stop there, I also have a swr10d4 subwoofer in a custom made center console that is ported tuned @ 32 hertz powered by a hifonics brx1600.1d amp @ 2ohms delivering 1200 watts rms to this bad boy and it will take your breath away. I had my box sealed at first but just wasn't quite satisfied. Then I cut a 2" hole and put a price of pic in it 6 1/2" long and the volume and bass at least doubled. I could not beleive the difference. The cubic ft. of the box is 1.04 and that is subtracting .08 which is alpine specs. Buy alpine they kick ass

  • I replaced 4 reference speakers with these. I had to turn the gain way up to make them sound good. They are very clear, but seem to have less mid bass. Still have some tuning to do though. Would not recommend running them off a factory deck, they only sound good when you crank up the power to them.

  • These are not as good sounding as I thought they would be. And Ibelive I blew one already. Only putting 80 watts into them. I would look for something else.

  • Replaced my factory Bose system with these in the front doors and tweeter in front pillars and spr-60 6 1/2 in my rear doors running off an older model mrp-f450 4 channel amp rated at 75×4 @ 4 ohms. New system sounds great! Now all I need is and pair of older type R 12's to hook to my mrx-m110.

  • I installed these in my Mom's 06 Impala without and amp. After I modified the OEM brackets the fit was perfect. Even the tweeters screwed right into the A-pilars after I cut out the tweeter grill. With a clear *Purchased* song these have fantastic overall sound! Nice and clear highs with great bass! I have some Kenwood components with a JL Audio 600x4 amp in my 97 Z/28. Now, I'm seriously considering buying these again for my car cause my JL amp keeps blowing everything else.
