I've had this sub for a while now and it slams! Pushing it with 600 watts rms and I have it in a downfiring sealed box with .9 cubic feet. Even if you don't want it downfiring its a great looking sub

great sub i just got it in today tho but ive been playing it for 2 hours straight n not even warm the sound of this thing is just amazing just one thing i dont like on this is the suspension but it hits pretty hard n i can tell its looking for more power!! great sub!
I got this subwoofer in my sisters car n she has been happy I just need a bigger amp I'm giving it 400-500 rms n the sound from this thing is on the cleanest I've heard! It's a freakkng awesome subwoofer totally worth the money! I recommend it
I'm a big fan of Alpine audio and the Alpine Type R (10D2 series) is one of my favorites. It allows for superb sound quality and loudness without requiring a large amount of power. The subwoofer is clean and very reliable. I have a pair of original Alpine Type Rs in another car over 14 years old and they are still kick'n. Highly recommend this product!
I was a bit worried that the 10 wouldn't be able to produce the low end I was looking for. This sub performed perfectly! It was clean and tight when it was supposed to be and hit the lows like a larger size woofer could. Definitely recommended.
These subs really are a great price. However in my experience with them, they did not stand up to my Hifonics GLX 2200.1 amp. The Type R's are supposed to handle 1000 RMS and 3000 peak. I'm not very experienced with wiring, but I figured running 1600 though two speakers should be fine. Both my Type R's blew out within a couple months. One of them cracked straight down the middle. The second one, the cone separated from the outer rubber flex material. I now have 2 Kicker L7s which are a bit more costly, but I've already had them a couple months and they seem to be much better matched for my amp even with lower wattage listed on the box. I would also say that kickers are louder because I ran a couple CVRs on the same amp for a bit and they definitely had more punch to them. It's possible I got a random bad pair of subs, and these aren't expensive but I wouldn't run them more than 600rms from what I've seen
I have 8 of these subs in my car along with 2 8" type r's and can't say much bad about them. I for sure am looking to upgrade all my speakers and amps (mrx-m110) they have a few scratches. Not a good quality for a show car. I usually upgrade every 2 years.
