The swr10D4 is an awesome subwoofer the clarity is great it hits very hard and deep and it also plays very loud. I am feeding one of these with a hifonics brutus 1600.1d mono amp. It is wired at 2ohms with 1200 watts rms going to it. This sub handles it perfectly when adjusted correctly. I also have the alpine spr60c speakers in my doors and they are being powered by a power acoustik ps2-800 2 channel amp with 150 watts rms and the speakers handle it very well. They are so loud they will actually hurt your ears if at almost full volume and still do not distort. You will not be sorry if you buy any type R speaker alpine makes.
Im thoroughly impressed with the quality of the subwoofer and would recommend to anyone looking for a great all around subwoofer. I have used 10w6 and 10w7 and can say this is a equal to even the greatest.
These subs handle the bass and have a clean hard hit. I love them for the money. I have them hooked up to a PDX-1000 in my STI and in my boat too!!! Online car stereo is the best online car shopping on the net in my opinion. I recommend it to all of my car stereo friends!
I installed this into a custom fiberglass sub box in my G35. I wired it to push 1000 watts rms at 2ohm. The sound quality was decent, but not great. That may have been due to 1) fiberglass gives a different sound than wood boxes, and 2) the box it was in may have been too small. The box was approximately .9 sq. ft. which is in the stated tolerance, but I inverted the sub to give it some extra room, and added polyfill, which did improve the sound. Incredibly loud for a single ten in a sealed box, just didn't seem as accurate as it should have been. OCS has a great price on this sub, so if you're looking for something loud at an affordable price, this sub is worth the money, but I would try a larger sub box, closer to 1.25 sq.Ft.
