This thing is amazing. The motor force on this thing is crazy high. It is way better than its predecessor.
this sub has a 3000 watt peak not 2000 like the site is claiming great sub wourth the money
I'm running 2 of these off of a garbage lanzar MXA3000D amp. the subs sound great and have a good range. not pushing them to full potential by far seeing as how they flex maybe an inch when i have the volume all the way up. probably pushing between 125 and 135 db's if i were to guess. great sub for the price. i would max them out with my other amp but i dont want to risk blowing anymore subs. you could probably stretch 150 db's if you really wanted to.
Bought 2 of these a while back, shipping took forever, ended up waiting about 2 months. but well worth the wait i have them in a 2008 fusion in a custom fit sealed box running seperate 1600 watt boss amps, and yes as the other guy said it is rated at 3000 max im not quite sure why they have it marked at 2 but anyways, first day i put them in they blew up the rear speakers, broke loose the rear deck and friends can hear me from blocks away. Great subs, who ever says they suck either have a bad amp or bad box. with the right equipment these will blow you away.
I purchased my type-r last year. I have it in a 300c, Brutus 1600 watt amp down to 1 ohm, she hits hard
I just got my sub box complete, built to alpine specs and installed in the car. I have a Rockford fosgate 1000.1amp on the alpine swr 12d2.these subs sound great
Works good up until 1000RMS. The reason is the small voice coil. Most 1000RMS subwoofers on the market carry a 3" aluminum coil. This coil is 2.5" copper. However, though it drops pretty low in a well tuned box. My box is 3.5 cubes tuned to 30hz for 2 12s and it drops to 25HZ solidly. Had it on 4k on my mono for a while but they couldnt take it so now i am wired to 2 ohms and running the pair off of 1000RMS. they take it all day as expected.
Best sub I ever had.
