Product Reviews For Alpine MRV-M500

  • If you're debating whether to spend the money on alpine hopefully I can make your decision for you. As some one who's gone through multiple amplifiers in my car system I can tell you alpine is the best I've had yet. This little 500W rms amp isnt like anything I've had in the past. It's miles better. If you're looking for great punch and awesome frequency response with more than enough power, then you need to buy an alpine. Don't waste your money on anything else that claims crazy stupid high output. This is true class D circuitry and gives the true power that it is advertised while running very cool compared to anything else. For example the amp I had before this little beast was an audiopipe 1000W "class D" advertised amp. It hit like a mother but had less than desirable frequency response, ran way too hot and was power greedy. Which means the claim of class D was a load of crap. It taxed my V6's alternator so much as to dim the headlights at even lower volumes. This alpine outputs way more power while running cool and sounding better and I can't get the lights to dim even if I try to by blasting this thing to reduce loud volumes. My recommendation is to buy this amp. Spend the money, you'll be glad you did. I find this amp to be exceptional when paired with an audiobahn 12" sub in a ported box that's built heavy and correctly. When you pair this amp with a 93-94dB sensitive sub like that, amazing things will happen for you. This combination is the best sounding one I've had yet, and buying these subs is where you can save your money. I can't imagine how good the 15" audiobahn would sound when paired with this. Might be my own future project. Hope this helps.

  • Can't find a better price for a small high power amplifier. Sound is clean with no pops or alternator noise.

  • I bought this amp July 1st but had to wait to set it up because I didn't have the sub yet. I installed the amp around August 15th and it was working great. However couple weeks ago I'm riding in my car and I completely loose my subwoofer. I check everything and see that my amp isn't turning on at all so I check all the wires, fuses and multimetered the wires. So basically I paid for nice clean bass for 2 months.. I called Alpine and they said the best they could do was if I sent it in and paid $70 to have it fixed. Would not buy again.
