  • I am here to, once and for all, to thumb my nose at all Audiobahn haters. In some car stereo circles it is "cool" to be anti-Audiobahn just like it is cool for privileged teens to be anti-establishment. A number of auto enthusiast that I run across are quick to say that Audiobahn is overrated, but it turns out that they have never owned Audiobahn. They all have that phantom friend that blew their Audiobahn amp in one week or popped a set of Audiobahn 15?s with a 200w 4-channel amp. The truth is that these people seldom exist. Many people are attracted to Audiobahn for its good quality and relatively cheap price. The problem is that cheap people are also attracted to cheap prices. Novice audio enthusiast will try to hook Audiobahn woofers to second had amps and set them in poorly constructed, home made boxes. Then they are quick to scream ?Audiobahn sucks? when their teeth don?t rattle after cranking up their system. I have these two woofers (Audiobahn AW1000N) set under the back seat of a 2005 Nissan Titan Crew Cab. The box was custom built (by a professional) to the woofer?s specifications and they are powered by a 1600w dual channel Audiobahn amp. I set the gain on the amp to ¼ capacity to warm up the woofers for a couple of days. Even at this level, approximately 400 to 500 watts the woofers were more that impressive. After the warm up I cranked up the gain to ½ capacity or approximately 800w and the sound was unbelievable. Rich, deep, explosive bass erupted form the truck cap and pounded the truck?s sheet metal as if it were a huge kettle drum. I could not believe that 2 ten inch woofers were capable of such a sound. Needless to say I was thoroughly impressed. If you are looking for quality and economy, Audiobahn is the way to go and these speakers are top notch. Just remember that an audio system is just that? a system. If any of the three components are out of alignment; the woofers, enclosure, or amp; the entire system will fall short of your expectations. The reason that people with $800 speakers get a killer sound is because they can afford to buy a $600 custom enclosure and a $1000 amp. You don?t have to be a millionaire to make an Audiobahn system roar but you do need to pay attention to the details. Good luck with these woofers and remember to thumb your nose at the anti-Audiobahn hype. If you treat these woofers right and feed them a steady diet of power, you will never be disappointed.

  • These subs are terrific. I've got two of these under my back seat of my Ford F 150 in a custom box. I'm using a 2400 Watt amp to push these things and man are they loud. I'll admit that I purchased these subs as a kind of "beginner, cheap intro" type woofers, and planned on buying some alpines when I had the money, but I was completely blown away and now I have no intention of buying anything else. I can pound music just as loud as my cousin's 15. This is a great sub, and its funny cause at first all my friends were giving me troubles for having two audiobahns while everyone else had MTX or Alpines, but I'm the one whose laughing now. Great sub. Buy it.
